Happy Resurrection Day! Christ our Lord is risen indeed! Here’s a meditation on the layers of meaning beneath Jesus’ statement. What needs to die in my life so I can fully experience resurrection power?
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I AM the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through me.” (John 14:5-6)
Do you feel right now like you don’t know the way forward? I’m right there with you. But we lost sheep can cling to a simple truth through grim days:
“I AM the way.”
Whoa, it’s been a year. Many people seem hope that, as we pass the human-ordained time boundary that will bring us into what we have labelled “2021,” the tide will turn somehow and we’ll “get back to normal.” With everything this past year has sent our way, it seems a fitting time to lift our eyes to meditate on the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man.
